  1. Hello,

I am looking to purchase a home in the area but am concerned about the look of Clay Park and the homeless people there. I have a toddler and am looking for an area with a family-friendly park. Are there any plans to upgrade the park or address the homeless population?

My thanks in advance for any information you can provide.

    Thank you,
    Risha

    1. Hi Risha, Rolando– like every community south of I-8, is experiencing challenges with homelessness. Other than seeing homeless individuals at Clay Park, Rolando remains one of the safest communities in the area with less crime than communities in every direction if you look at the Crimemapping app. Regarding improvements to Clay Park, we have $150,000 for a project that is slated to begin soon, and the General Development Plan for Clay Park was approved earlier this year, paving the way for more improvements including the only dog park in the area. I hope that helps and if you end up moving to Rolando we’d love to welcome you!
